Is It A Date (Shinji)

It was 7:50 and she had just arrived at the Ramen shop she was getting anxiety she really hopes that this works for her she is really interested in this guy and she thinks he feels the same way but anything can happen to make her look bad like what if he does not like the way she eats or a prettier girl walks by. All this over thinking was making her rethink actually showing up. "You can do this Mai. Do not be stupid. You are hot."

Shinji was walking down the street, thinking as he made his way towards 'Ichiraku Ramen'


His brain continued on in this manor as he arrived outside of 'Ichiraku Ramen' though now he was wearing only the black underclothing to the basic uniform, lacking the flak jacket is all which meant the white sleeve from his left side was gone as well. He saw her standing there, he approached her speaking in his calm voice "Hey, Mai. Sorry I know I'm technically not late, but still I should have been here sooner." He walked up to her stopping with just a few inches between them.

Shinji Hi How are you." She did not want to do anything stupid so she just stood smiled and waved. "Don't beat yourself up about being late even though you are not late." She would smile then walk through the signs and take her seat at the noodle bar. SHe hoped he would do the same thing but really it was up to him it was already pretty awkward.

Shinji felt the awkwardness of the situation as he walked through the signs and sat next to her, he then would speak with his usual voice. "Well, let's become better acquainted. I am Shinji Hatake, mostly known as the 'White Lightning'. I'm 20 years old and a Jounin. " the cook would then ask what they wanted to drink, Shinji asked for tea and then turned his attention back to the woman with him.

She enjoyed his company he was cool the last guy she talked only cared about her eyes and the fact that she should actually be in the Hidden cloud instead of the leaf which she felt was non of his business so that ended very badly. But now she is with Shinji but she does not know know what to say until he speaks up. "Oh I am Mai Hikaeme i am 19 and a chunnin medical specialist. I don't have a cool nickname but you know i am not that cool anyway." She turns away to reprimand her self before looking ack at him meeting his gaze.

Shinji smiled and spoke to her with interest, "What do they call you?" He began to think about how much he enjoyed her company, the sound of her voice and not the dojutsu but her actual eyes. The cook then asked what they wanted to eat, Shinji would speak "I know I want beef ramen special, Mai, what do you want to eat?" He would say with his usual voice, then he nervously remembered he was going to have to remove his mask at some point. This would be new for him, no one had seen his face sense the last time he had spoken with his father.

"They call me Mai or Hey We need a medic." She says jokingly.  I will have the same thing." When the man walks away she would turn to him. "I do not actually like Ramen." She would laugh and then smile. She was curious about the mask but thought it was rude to ask him that. "Lovely night, it sure did cool down from before." The breeze was nice and calming her beautiful blonde hair blew in the breeze.

Shinji would listen to her talk and then look puzzled at her, "I'm sorry, do you wanna see what else they have?" He thought the night was ruined right then, but then he began to connect dots and said calmly "Is it my mask your thinking about?" He would say as the bowls were sat down on the table, the steam rolling off the food. He would smile as he continued to look at her, the breeze came through moving his tied back hair as he looked at her with deepened eyes.

"Well I thought it would be rude to ask." She smiles then pulls apart the chop sticks. "It smells good." Mai liked to play coy she thought it might get his attention and make her seem awesome even though in her eyes you cant much cooler then him. "She would see his eyes they looked as if he was longing for something, something more but she would just start eating until she would look back at him with the same feeling.

Shinji watched as she seemed to eat the ramen despite her feelings towards it, she looked at him though he would turn his attention to his bowl. Reaching up with his right hand he would grab his mask and slide it down below his chin, revealing his narrow yet strong jawline which is generally covered by the mask. He would take the chopsticks and break them apart before beginning to eat in a neat but quick fashion, he would stop after about 4 bites and speak after clearing his mouth of food as not to be rude. "So Mai, what made you want to go on this date?" He would reach into his pocket with his right hand and pull out the money to pay for their meals, laying on the counter for the man who would go into the back of the shop. Shinji looked into her eyes with deep interest that he found inside of her.

"You were...are interesting I guess." She would look at him pushing her hair from in front of her face behind her ear. "I guess this is a date then, I didn't want to call it that becasue it might have scared you away." She looks back at her empty bowl. "I guess i do like ramen." Mai would say in a very snarky tone looking back into his eyes it was like home to her he was an enigma to her they just meant and now she feels home with him.

Shinji listened as she said she found him interesting, he looked at her and found the subtle movement of brushing back her hair to be cute. Standing from the stool he offered a hand to help her down, his mask still down he would speak to her before she could take his hand if she chose to do so. "Could I walk you home?" His eyes had a flickering glow from the lanterns around the stand, he hoped she would take his hand and say yes.

If she agreed and the two would start walking in the moonlit streets seemingly all alone, he would stop after leaving the shop and arriving a short distance to an opening looking up to the moon which was quite large tonight. Pointing to the moon he would keep his eyes on her, "Beautiful, and the moon is pretty tonight too." He wanted to increase the romanticism in the air before he would step forward closing in enough to let the heat of their bodies be shared, his mind telling him to lean in for a kiss. Leaning in for it quickly pecking their lips together before leaning back a little to look into her eyes.

"You may walk me home if you wish." She would walk home with him. The lanterns lit up the Village it was probably the most beautiful thing she has seen in such a long time. The shadows from the glistening lanterns dance as if they are putting on a dance for all to bare witness too. Shinji would stop and stare at the moon caling it beautiful she would soon realize he was talking about her. Mai would blush and soon be taken into his embrace out of the two he was the dominant personality he was the one willing to take the lead and in a moment she would feel a sweet peck on her lips it was like she was a princess though it could have been longer. But she got her kiss she can't complain. She would feel his chin up and caress it. "You shouldn't cover it up."

Shinji smiled at her as they embraced a moment, her soft lips lingering on his as she caressed his chin. He would smirk as he continued to speak, "I am happy you find my appearance pleasing..." He would have carried on walking towards her home, stopping outside he would continue what he was saying. "Perhaps the next time we will talk about my mask?" He was hinting that he wanted a second date with her, he would still have the mask pulled down revealing his lower face. He would embrace her once more, keeping enough distance between them to gaze into her eyes. "So... When is next time?" He would say as he slid his hands to the small of her back, his hands lightly pressed into her back as to let her know he was there but not squeeze her uncomfortably.

"I will leave that for fate to decided, she would put her head down on his chest due to him being much taller then her the would stay in his embrace his for a few moments before departing up the stairs and then opening the door in which she would leave him. "Goodnight." Mai would close the door slowly behind her ;leaving him to walk home by himself.

Shinji smirked as he lifted his mask back over his face, covering his self as she closed her door. Turning he walked away into the night, wondering when he would see her next. He could only imagine the world being put between them, something he didn't want to happen at any point. He would walk for sometime before reaching his apartment, entering it and ending his delightful night.

She knows he will be the only thing on her mind for the next few days but all she can do now is get enough rest becasue she has a big day ahead of her tomorrow she heads out on a mission to protect a prince and his son sounds exciting. [exit Thread]
