Appearance:
Shinji has dark grey eyes, and typically a relaxed, heavy-lidded expression. He has spiky, silver-coloured hair that reaches into the middle of his back tied in a ponytail and bangs that hung over his forehead protector. This, combined with the mask he has used to cover the lower half of his face for seemingly his entire life, prevents most of his face from being visible. Even his friends have so rarely ever seen his full face that they have various ideas of what he looks like. In the few occasions he exposes his full face, he is revealed to be very handsome with a narrow jaw-line. He wears a standard Konoha-nin uniform with a pair of gloves, flak jacket, bandages on his right arm, and the addition of distinctive short white sleeve which had red edges and the standard crest of a swirled red circle on it. He also carries a holster worn diagonally over his right shoulder which held his ninjato.

The Person

Background:
In the year of 45 A.N. a young man was born to a small family known as the Hatake, they were too small to be known as a clan and so a mere 3 person family. The family consisted of the father Kenchi Hatake, their mother died giving birth to Shinji, Sakumo Hatake the eldest and Shinji Hatake the youngest. After a few years in the war the 3 males began selling their team work and strength to the different feudal lords, by this point Shinji had reached the age of 10. The next 5 years of his life he would experience losing his entire family during the Warring States Era, found by Naraku during the time of the Village Founding he was brought to Konohagakure as a Jonin. He has held this role for the last 5 years, until now where he carries the wait of his new family, the village.

Personality:
Shinji is a shrewd person, not one to do something without a reason. He is well aware of the terror his reputation inspired in rival villages and takes advantage of it at times, but even then he will always remain respectful to opponents. Shinji also won't pry into other people's personal affairs unless he feels it to be necessary, and he is not the type to hold grudges. Shinji is a very kind and loyal man, he loves his village dearly. Despite his tremendous fame and power as a ninja, he is a very humble man. He has a deep devotion to Konohagakure and an even greater commitment to his allies and loved ones to the point he puts their well-being before anything else.

Likes:
- Konohagakure no Sato: He has a very deep love for his village and fellow ninja.
- Storms: Shinji is in love with thunderstorms, he finds the destructive force and sound of rain to be a calming. He also likes lightning and feels like it can represent the life of ninja, powerful when there yet gone in a loud flash.
- Having Friends: He enjoys company and always puts his people before his self and a mission.
