The Fire Within (FB Shinji)

Sweat poured down Mai's face her hair was tied back behind her face to keep her cool but of no avail. Konohgagure was in one of its famous heatwaves and she knew that it was going to be a pain to go to the hospital well with all the people passing out from heat exhaustion and dehydration so she just took the day off. For Mai it was time she tried to work on Mastering her Kekki Genkai the purification release . But first she needed fire and lightning, together with water the three are considered the purest elements so it only makes sense for them to work harmoniously together to create purification style jutsu. Her only problem is that she has no idea where to start with fire or lightning. Fire would be a good idea seeing as how she would be able to set things on fire quickly mainly becasue they were dry not that she has her plan how would she execute it.

Shinji was walking with the training grounds as his destination, thoughts swirling in his head so much that he seemed to be vacantly staring into the sky. His hands in his pockets as he walked with a cool and calm demeanor, he began to really feel the heat of the day as he got more out into the open of the village. His body covered by the traditional armor or uniform as the Konohagakure Ninja, with the addition of his personal mask which covered his nose down to his neck. He had little room to let the heat out, upon arriving at the training field he would see a young woman who would be drenched in sweat. Reaching into his pouch around his waist he would pull out a small canteen filled with about a liter of water, walking up to her as she seemed to be in thought he would offer it to her as he spoke from beneath the cloth mask "Here. It's a hot day, don't give yourself a heatstroke. They seem to be very apparent these days, hasn't been a heatwave like this in a long time." He then would step back waiting for the woman to respond.

Mai would look up and see a very mysterious but handsome man handing her a canteen. "Thanks but no thanks I have my own." She would then point to her waist where one was laying just below her bottom. "Trust me I have handled heat stroke cases all this week and I have no intent on being a case myself." Mai would then get a rather good idea. "Do you want to train together?" This was really more selfish then anything else she wanted to know more about the mysterious man. "I am trying to learn fire style jutsu and I am kinda lost especially because I have an affinity for water soooo."

Shinji would smirk again beneath his mask as he returned his canteen to the pouch, she had her own water smart girl. She then mentioned working with the people of the village with heatstroke, he spoke calmly as before "You must work at the medical building? Happy to hear about the new hospital being built I'm sure." He would smirk as she began speaking again, his thoughts took over from the question.


He caught his self studying here appearance for a moment before he spoke, "Sure, I will train with you. You said you know water and wish to know fire?" His voice as calm and collected as ever, the cool detachment still there as he handed her a small slip of paper. He spoke again stating "See that? This is chakra paper, watch this..." He would hold three slips of the small paper between his index and middle finger, middle and ring finger, and his ring and pinky. Sudden his chakra would go through them, the first crinkled up showing his major affinity for lightning, the second burnt up and became a black crisp, and thirdly it became dampened by water. He would then proceed to speak, "If you have the ability to learn fire release attempt the second paper of mine." He knew that was easier said then done. But if she could even get it to spark at the top he could help her.

As she saw him take out the three pieces of paper she knew exactly where this was going so she decided to be a little sneaky, the first time she did this it was with her father and she did not have use of her clans very special Kekki Genkai. But now she has all but masted its use and can see exactly what it is he is doing. Her eyes would flicker a bright gold and shine rather brightly, what she was doing was activating her Golden Medical Eye, She could now see through him. She saw everything from his Kentestu points to his internal organs bone structure and so much more but the only thing she wants is his chakra flow. Mai was very impressed by his chakra control even for a jonin it was very impressive she could see his chakra was flowing with pinpoint accuracy out of his hands and into the paper. As a Medical Specialist her chakra control was pretty on point as well. 


She would take the sheets of paper also using this as a moment to brush her hand up against his as a way of subtly flirting but nothing too in his face. Mai would take then focus her chakra into them almost as well as he did though only the first one became rather damp and nothing happened to the second one. After a few more minutes of focusing her chakra in between her middle finger and ring finger a little spark ignited on the paper but was quickly killed but it was enough to prove she can learn fire.

Shinji watched the change in her eyes his hidden smirk was there as she seemed to brush his hand, as he watched her attempting the nature transformation he caught his self studying the woman. The first paper damp as she had stated, Water Release. The second however showed promise of fire release, he would then discard the paper and begin speaking calmly "I see you have pretty good control of your chakra, that's good. It'll make this easier for sure." He wondered to his self:


He continued to look at her, he realized he was staring and the redness was slightly visible above his mask. He then spoke clearly "Well, When I learned Fire Nature... My father took a his hand like this..." He then placed his hand on a nearby tree, "And then concentrated his chakra, to do this..." His arm would tense up showing the muscle as it pulsed quickly to send a wave of chakra forward, lowering his hand a burned hand print was on the tree. He then continued to speak, "Father then stated in order to do that you have to take your chakra and for me it was instead of letting it streak like lightning... So for you it would be instead of letting it flow like a river, make your chakra jumble very fast ald flicker. To simulate flames." He then began looking at her again, something over an eye catcher she was.

Mai would notice him constantly staring at her but would not comment on it becasue in her own way she is very much doing the same. Mai would watch on as he demonstrates the exercise on the tree. His power was utterly amazing to her and she did not want to show him that she was weak and decided to try it herself, Taking her stance in front of the tree she would place her right arm on the base and just try to exert all the chakra she could while focusing on how it will come out. Not like the water flowing but more like a fire burning. She would ponder this in her head creating a visualization a power fire and this would in turn help her chakra it did so indeed her chakra power was great she left a hand print in the form of a scorch mark. "I did it."

Shinji felt that she had caught on to his primal instinct and so embarrassed as he was, he continued to train to the best of his ability as a teacher. He watch her as she approached the tree positioning herself in front of it, her right hand against the bark he knew if she tried it could be done. He watched as she surged forth Chakra creating a scorched hand print on the tree, he was impressed for a first attempt she was learning much faster than he was able to. He looked at her till he had her attention again handing her a final piece of Chakra paper, speaking "Well, show me one more time?" After stating that he reached into his pouched and pulled out the canteen, turning his face out of view he would slightly lower the mask and take a drink. Then he turned back to the woman with his face covered again, he was watching the attractive girl more.

Taking the paper Mai would think of how handsome he must be under the mask but quickly snapped out of it and then remembered the task at hand, learning the fire transformation. That is whats crucial to her as a ninja and to the village. "She would focus her chakra but this time not like a flowing river but as a powerful fire the chakra would bend to her whim and the paper would ignite burning to an ember not a single piece of paper left she did it she really dd it. She would jump into his arms and smile she was happy but would then soon realize she was in his embrace and would turn a very bright red.

Shinji watched as she seemed to come out of a daze, he wondered what she was thinking but that could wait. He observed her as she put forth chakra creating a flame that engulfed the paper turning it to charred and brittle waste and no longer paper, the excitement got to her as she jumped for joy and even seemed to embrace Shinji. Caught in shock he was silent and bright red his self, he could feel her become embarrassed at her action. Shinji then spoke in a nervous, but calm fashion "Ummm..... Your welcome?" He didn't know what to do, he was in utter shock. This attractive woman in his arms, but he wasn't ready at all. He had felt alone since the loss of his family, being the last of the Hatake, it was so.... Different to him.

Well um this might sound a little strange but would you like to get ramen tonight?"  She was still red from her embarrassing jump. She was never the type to just ask out another person but she was willing to with this one.

Shinji looked at her, he couldn't believe that she asked him to Ramen. He liked Ramen, He smirked beneath his mask and spoke calm and collected as not to give away his shock. "Ramen sounds good, what time?" He was still in disbelief, how could Shinji have got asked on a date? He then waited for her response, looking at her like earlier. The slight browse of his eyes occurred again.

"Well um 8 o'clock. I will meet you there." She would begin to walk away she would then turn around and remember something. "My name is Mai." She would turn and walk towards the training gates. "See ya soon."

[Exit]

Shinji would convert the time to memory and when she said her name he responded, "I'm Shinji, Definitely." He then continued to exit the grounds as well.
