Pay: 500 Wordcount: 1000 Village: Otogakure
On beautiful days like today, when the sun was shining and the birds were chirping, Miyo liked to be outside more than anything. Usually she would be out exploring nature, and getting into all kinds of trouble. However, ever since she began taking her ninja training more serious, she has found herself acting a little uncharacteristic. She could thank Myojin for giving her the confidence boost she needed. It explains why she jumped at the chance to take this C-rank mission that required her to retrieve a merchant. Miyo stood right outside of the gates of Otogakure. She was wearing her usual wardrobe, a short dress and gold jewelry. While playing with her long strand of hair in front of her eyes, the genin began pacing back and forth letting her bare feet rub against the grass. It wasn't uncommon for the girl to go barefoot on nice days like this. The reason for the waiting game was due to Miyo not being the only one on this mission. There was another who would be joining her, but she didn't quite catch the name. Her mind filled with possibilities of what they would face on this mission. There was a chance she would get to see bandits, or maybe even monsters. Although, she could do without seeing any more monsters for a while. -------- WC: 223 | |

| The sun was glowing quite brightly today. The numerous birds that inhabited the Land of Rice Paddies were also quite active as well. Numerous people were up and about the village, doing their daily routines. Be it selling food or doing services for others. In Kimura's case, however, it was basically a mission. Some merchant was left stranded in the forest so now he has to bring him back. Well...he and some other person. A rather young genin from what he remembered bein told. Miyo...as it? Perhaps. In any case, Kimura simply sighed as he walked about the streets, people eyeing his bizarre body. Hopefully he wouldn't have to babysit as well as put up with a more than likely greedy con-man who believes he's a gift from the heavens.
After a few moments of walking, Kimura finally arrived at the village gates. Crossing all six of his arms, looked about with his unnatural, arachnid-like eyes, eventually spotting a small girl. She wore a dress and some accessories. Was probably only 4'10, compared to Kimura's 7'8. With a calm, almost bored look on his face, he approached the child. "Miyo?" He would ask, his camo bandana hiding any trace of hair while his braided ponytail was hidden behind his neck and back. His sharp, black teeth were quite apparently as he spoke and, due to not wearing a shirt, his tribal tattoos were very apparent. It'd be a miracle if she didn't freak out

| Since being inhabited by a pretty dangerous monster, Miyo had begun to develop a good resistance towards the unnatural. Be it giant demon turtles, or young boys who appeared half snake half human, there wasn't much that she thought could freak her out. That was until today. She came to a halt from casually pacing and let out a faint huff of air. A strong voice had spoken up behind her, by saying her name. It must have been the man supposed to accompany her on the mission. With a brilliant smile, Miyo twisted around to greet this hopefully kind man. Never before had her face switched expressions so fast. She was expecting to see a pretty buff ninja who looked to have some battle scars, but overall maintained a pretty normal appearance. At this point, she would've even taken some excessive hair on his body or even a tail. What she wasn't expecting was to see someone who was barely recognizable as human. Immediately after she gazed upon the man, she fell to the ground and let out a quick scream. "Ahh!"
The man standing before had to be at least 7 feet tall, but that wasn't even the beginning of the strangeness. He had six muscular arms, very much similar to that of a spider. His eyes looked almost completely black, with three white pupils in the iris and he had teeth that seemed sharper and darker than most kunai. To add to his intimidating appearance he also had multiple scars and tattoos over his body. "Um..I...I'm Miyo." Miyo slowly got up from the floor. Building up courage she stepped towards the man and stuck her hand out for a handshake. She wasn't really sure which hand to shake. "Has there been one person you haven't gotten freaked out by yet? I'm beginning to see a pattern in this village." Isobu had a point. At this rate, the poor girl was going to have a heart attack by the age of 21.
"Please forgive me for my rude reaction, I didn't mean to offend. Your tattoos are very pretty. What's your name?" After that embarrassing introduction, she wanted to make him feel more welcome before they set off on the mission. Miyo hated giving off the impression that she was judgmental. In actuality, she was just very easily scared and this man just happened to be quite scary.

| Kimura, his eyes as keen as ever, could see the sudden change of expression as the young girl laid eyes on him. A shriek escaped from her mouth as she suddenly fell backwards, looking up at him. She stayed like that for a few seconds longer than what Kimura was comfortable with, though he did not show any outward signs of discomfort. Rather, he retained his monotone and calm expression. The giant shinobi waited as the young girl slowly regained herself and stood, confirming that she was Miyo. He watched as she stuck out her hand, seemingly for a handshake, as she began to apologize for her reaction. She even added that his tattoos were pretty before inquiring his name.
Kimura, not reacting to her explanation or her compliment, crouched as his left middle arm extended forward, his fingers gently grabbing onto the small child's hand as he then softly shook it. No matter how easily enraged and violent Kimura can be, he knew better than to frighten a child. Especially one who was part of his village. "Kimura." Came the monotone voice, now releasing the young girl's hand and standing straight again. Her name rang a bell to him, but he didn't exactly know why. He just couldn't put his finger on it. He never met the child before of course, but he's heard the name a few times from other shinobi and villagers. He never bothered to listen though. Dropping that train of thought, Kimura spoke. "Do you need to be briefed on the mission before we leave? The mission itself would take a few hours, though not a day."

| It seemed that Kimura hadn't taken her reaction too badly. That was definitely a relief. Miyo wasn't one to burn bridges on the first meeting with someone. She also took note of how the man got straight to business asking her if she was already briefed on the mission. Of course, Miyo had went over the mission details several times. Despite her childish personality and appearance, she liked to think she was good at her job. As far as the details of the mission, she kind of felt sorry for the merchant who was left stranded. After retracting her hand from the strong man in front of her, she responded to his question.
"Yes, I've been briefed already. It seems the poor merchant was abandoned by his bodyguards and is now stranded. I explore around the outskirts of the village often, so I'm familiar with the area he's in. Hopefully no one gets to him before we do." Miyo stepped back from Kimura and pointed into the direction in which they were told the merchant headed. "He should be that way. Let's head out! Without waiting for a response, Miyo took off in the direction she pointed to. She wasn't the best at working in a team environment due to her impulsiveness.

| Kimura would let out a simple "Hmmm" as Miyo confirmed that was briefed. Made it easier on his part to be honest. He would then listen as Miyo would state that she knows the area well as well as hoping that nothing bad happens to the man. And with that, she was off, running past the village gates and into the small forest that surrounded the village. Kimura, with a sigh, would follow in suite. The giant man would be at the small child's side, running along the path as they passes various trees and shrubs. "I'm heading into the trees, in case there is something up ahead. I'll have a vantage point." With that, the spider human would suddenly jump up and would be in the branches, hoping to each one in-front of him. After all, they needed to be prepared in-case the man was being attacked or if there was a wild animal up ahead. So far, however, Kimura saw nothing. He would stay in the trees, however, and would keep his eyes peeled as he continued jumping.
After a few moments, the jonin would spot something in the distance. A large horse-pulled wagon filled with goods and having no horses. Sitting next to it was a man wearing a embroidered green kimono, his mustache skinny and long. "We're close." Kimura would say to the genin below him. "I can see him and he seems to be safe."

| Miyo nodded in agreement as Kimura took to the trees to get a better vantage point for them. It was a smart plan, that way they wouldn't be caught off guard if something strange happened. Something strange was always bound to happen. As they started to get further into the forest, Kimura announced that they were getting close and the man they were supposed to be protecting seemed safe. That was good news. Miyo would hate to get there just to find out that they had already failed the mission. It was probably a good idea for Miyo to be the first one to meet the target, due to obvious reasons.
Miyo began to speed up in order to get to the merchant first. When she arrived, she saw a frail man with an embroidered green kimono. Sitting next to him was a wagon which she assumed used to be carried by horses. The young genin scrolled up to the merchant who just glared at her with severe judgement. He obviously wasn't impressed. "You must be Takao the Merchant! I'm Miyo, and we're here to escort you back!"
"We? All I see is a puny brat, with fake jewelry and no horses. How do you expect to move my cart or even protect me if I get attacked? This is ridiculous!" Miyo stood there in shock for a few seconds while Isobu laughed clearly enjoying this guy. This man had some serious nerve insulting the girl, and plus her jewelry was not fake! Miyo stood back, hoping that Kimura would put him in his place. Although, the spider-man didn't seem to care to much about anything besides completing the mission and getting his money.

| Kimura crouched upon the branch, being directly above Miyo and the merchant. Takao seemed to his name and he wasn't exactly the nicest person in the world. The older man flat-out insulted in the young girl as he then began to nag about how ridiculous the situation. The large man couldn't help but let out a silence sigh. He somewhat guessed this would happen. After all, the report says Takao got into a arguement with his bodyguards, who then took their horses and left. Not wanting to hear his voice any longer, Kimura jumped from the branch, his large body landing behind Takao with a loud thud. The merchant would look behind him before suddenly shrieking in fear, falling backward as he did while he looked up to the giant. "Merchant Takao. We are here to escort you back." Kimura would say, putting emphasis on the word we.
The merchant would gulp and shakingly stand back up, dusting himself off. "O-of course." He would say in a meek voice before rushing by Kimura and scrambling onto his wagon. Shaking his head at the sight of the man, Kimura would then lift up Miyo as well with his two middle arms and place her on the wagon as well. Having done that, he would approach the front of it and grab unto the two extended pieces of wood that were meant for to keep horses in place as they carried the wagon. Grabbing each one with three arms, Kimura began to move forward at casual pace, the wagon moving behind him. His eyes would be scanning the area in-front of him while his ears listened intently into the forest, ready in the case of a bandit attack.

| A smile creeped across Miyo's face when Kimura revealed himself by leaping down to the ground. She was still a little freaked out by the intimidating man, but she could hardly be focused on that when she was too busy watching Takao be even more petrified. For some reason, the merchant had now seemed okay with the idea of them escorting him back. Maybe Miyo needed to work on becoming more menacing. She wondered how she could go about growing 4 more arms. Her attention shifted back to the man in the kimono who rushed back to his wagon for shelter. Laughter escaped the Genin's mouth at the sight of this. Her laughter was cut short by a pair of strong arms lifting her into the cart after the man. How patronizing. It seemed as if the rest of the trip was going to be spent in the cart, as Kimura acted as if he was a horse and began to pull the cart along. Those arms must have given him a large amount of strength. Miyo knew her job was now going to be to keep an eye on the merchant, but he eyes kept switching focus to the items inside of the cart. Surprisingly, the man had a cart full of expensive looking items. There was even a gold kunai! As she reached to grab the golden kunai in the cart, the man slapped her hand away and gave her a scowl. "These items cost more than you'll ever be worth. Keep your hands off." Miyo was normally a calm and happy person, but she was ready to lose it on this pompous man after that comment. Before she could do anything however, she heard the clunk of a kunai slam into the back door of the cart. Followed by the simmering sound that could only belong to an explosive tag. She had to act quick. Pushing the merchant behind her, she began forming a quick string of handsigns. When she landed on the final seal, a large spout of water sprung from her lips and blasted into the back door of the cart detaching it from the cart itself. The explosive tag kunai was attached to the back door, and approximately 5 seconds after it departed from the cart the explosion had went off. The aftershock from the explosion shook the cart. "Uhm... Kimura! I think we're under attack!" There were three ninja following the cart that Miyo could make out. They all looked exactly alike, dressed from head to toe in black. Not an inch of skin was showing due to the bodysuits and gas masks that adorned their face. Miyo could only guess the type of combinations they were going to employ. Ignoring the cries of the merchant next to her, Miyo grabbed the golden kunai and leaped out of the back of the cart flinging the kunai at the ninja in the middle. The middle ninja quickly deflected the kunai with an average katana. When the smaller blade fell to the ground, Miyo noticed a scratch on the kunai that revealed a familiar black color under the gold. "You're selling fake goods!?" Miyo yelled hysterically as the ninja who deflected the kunai landed in front of her prepared to fight. So much for being worth more than her. --------- TWC: 536 + 1119 = 1,655 Jutsu Used: - Spoiler:

| Kimura cleared his throat loudly at the sound of the merchant speaking again, warning him to keep his mouth shut. He didn't want to hear the old man's shrill voice anymore than the next guy, especially with the old man's attitude. Nonetheless, the spider man's mission was to protect him and his goods. Thus, the moment the explosion happened behind him, Kimura immediately stopped and jumped onto the wagon, standing between Takao and Miyo. Three men garbed in black were racing toward them. Miyo took the initiative and threw a golden kunai at the enemy shinobi (undoubtedly one of the merchant's products) that was then deflected with a katana swipe before landing in-front of Miyo. With his superior speed, however, Kimura threw a punch that landed directly onto the shinobi's face. The strike threw him off the wagon and onto the ground while the remaining two shinobi jumped into the air, their katanas over their heads, preparing to strike down on the large spider man.
Kimura, knowing such an attack may hinder him, acted quickly. He reached down into the wagon, grabbing the two heaviest things he could find. Pulling them out they were golden statues of two deities, possibly Izanami and Izanagi. Using his great strength, he flung them at the two airborne attackers. There was a distinctive thunk sound as the two metal figures bashed themselves against the two shinobis' heads, causing them to let go of their blades and land face first into the merchandise below. The katana would land on the ground around the wagon, effectively disarming them.
